Northgate Open House – August 27, from 7:00-8:00 pm. Parents, please have access to your student’s schedule.

Parents, the use of e-cigarettes is a problem in schools across the country. Students are using these devices with liquids that contain illegal drugs. In an attempt to reduce the use of these dangerous products, the three high schools are increasing the punishment for use or possession on school property or buses. A student caught using or in possession will be given 5 days out of school suspension for a first offense. For a second offense we will hold a hearing for possible placement at the alternative school.

In addition to an increase in punishment, the Coweta County School System will begin a new educational program in order to heighten the awareness of the dangers of e-cigarettes.
