Meet the Counseling Department

 

 KellySchettini  Kelly Schettini is beginning her 8th year at Northgate.  She works with students in grades 10-12 whose last name begins with letters P through Z. Her previous experience was as the lead therapist in the assessment department of a local behavioral health hospital.  She attended the State University of New York at Potsdam where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Human Services.  In 2005, she earned her Master’s degree in Community Counseling from the University of Rochester before picking up and moving the family to the warm state of Georgia.  Her certification in School Counseling was completed at the University of West Georgia in 2008. Mrs. Schettini and her husband have an adopted ten year old son named Woody and two fun-loving 4-legged “kids”. She is an avid triathlete and loves to be outside enjoying all that God has created.  She is so happy to be at Northgate and have the experience of building relationships with students while doing all in her will to help them be successful.

BethDeLoach

Beth DeLoach is the registrar at Northgate. She has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and social work. Mrs. DeLoach worked as a probation officer for 16 years. This is her 12th year as registrar at Northgate. Not only does she help take care of 1800+ students at Northgate, but she also has triplets,daughters, of her own.

 KariLumme

 Kari Lumme is the Counseling Department Secretary at Northgate. She has worked at Northgate for 21 years and is a beach loving, book reading, coffee drinking wife, mom, and Noni. Just a few of the things she does at NGHS are assist counselors with class scheduling, parent appointments, and testing. She assists students with transcripts, college information, and scholarship applications. She coordinates Honor’s Night and communicates counseling department information to parents and students.

 ErinBass

Erin Bass is in her 16th year at Northgate. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and earned her Master’s and Specialist’s degree from the University of West Georgia. She also completed her Doctorate degree from the University of West Georgia in 2014. Dr. Bass takes much pride in her work as the counselor for the 9th grade. When she is not working hard with the 9th graders, she is spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Bass’ door is always open and she’s always happy to help.

 MichelleHutcheson

Michelle Hutcheson is the Counselor for students in grades 10-12 whose last names begin with letters H through O. This is her 21st year at Northgate and her 28th year in education. She spent 8 years teaching at Evans Middle School before coming to Northgate as a school counselor. She earned her Associate’s degree from Reinhardt College, her Bachelor’s degree from Georgia College, and her Master’s degree from the University of West Georgia. Away from Northgate, she enjoys gardening, church activities, and time with her family.

 AliciaRamsey  Alicia Ramsay is entering her 6th year at Northgate as the Counselor for 10th -12th grades, last name A through G. Ms. Ramsay joins the faculty from one of the surrounding feeder schools, Arbor Springs Elementary, where she served as the Counselor for several years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family, Child, and Consumer Sciences from Florida State University,  her Master’s in Counselor Education from the University of Central Florida, and most recently, her Specialist in Counselor Education. Her areas of research and interest are self injurious behaviors, teen pregnancy, and suicide. Ms. Ramsay is a dedicated mother of two sons, Cameron and Cayson, and enjoys spending time with friends and family. She is an avid FSU fan and seeks to make a difference in the lives of the students she serves at Northgate High.
